As a parent of a student receiving Title I funds, you play an important role in your child’s education. You have many rights and responsibilities and it is important that you know how you may act on them.
You have the right to…..

Know the qualifications of paraprofessionals providing services for your child.
Know if our school has met the state’s standard as a “Safe School.”
Know if your child is a victim of a violent crime in our school, and that you may request to transfer your child to another “Safe School.”

Know if our school does not meet the state’s academic standards three years in a row. You will be offered an opportunity to request that your child be transferred to another school that has met state standards or apply for free supplemental services (after-school tutoring) if your child participates in the free or reduced lunch program.
Request that military recruiters not have access to your child.
Request an opportunity to decline English Language Learner services (if your child qualifies for such services).
